Good Wishes in These Tumultuous Times
A quote from Thomas Friedman's new book brought to you through the courtesy of Stewart Levine..
"I hope that it is clear by now that every day going forward we're going to be asked to dance in a hurricane, set off by the accelerations in the Market, Mother Nature, and Moore's law. Some politicians propose to build a wall against this hurricane. That is a fool's errand. There is only one way to thrive now, and it's by finding and creating your own eye... We have to dive into them...learn faster, design smarter, and collaborate deeper - all so we can build our own eyes to anchor and propel ourselves and our families confidently forward..."
Coincidentally, the strong winds of nature of this last week, perhaps a metaphor for the upheavals of the last year, reminded me of one night walking down a residential street near our home with my older sister. We bobbed and weaved as we walked in very strong winds, enjoying our togetherness and the slice of nature we were fortunate to experience. Friedman's words give rise to the same feelings I experienced those decades ago.
May you all remain upright and the winds be at your back (a cyclist's prayer) and you all experience the hopes of a new generation. Best wishes for the upcoming holidays and 2017.
